Word of honor

"I have been asked what i mean by 'word of honor'. I will tell you: Place me behind prison walls-walls of stone ever so high, ever so think, reaching ever so far into the ground-there is a possibility that in some way or another I might be able to escape; but stand me on the floor and draw a chalk line around me and have me give my word of honor never to cross it. Can I get out of that circle? No, never! I'd die first."

I agree with Karl G. Maeser. He has a point when he explains what word of honor is. It's kind of like a promise. You must never break a promise. You must always keep your word. Very similar. I agree with him because if say something to someone and give them your word, then you must do what you said you would do. One example is if you give your project group your word that you will do your part. If you give your word then you will have to do it just like you said because you gave your word of honor. If you give your word of honor, you can't just say anything and you also can't say something you know you can't or won't do. It's a very important thing.
