Duties and responsibilities: Some of the duties of an optometry technician is to conduct diagnostic tests, recording and measuring vision, testing eye function, instructing patients in inserting and caring for contact lenses, and also preparing examination rooms.

No I do not think I would like to be one because I don't want to be an assistant. I prefer to be the one hiring an assistant.
